Mission and Formation at McQuaid Jesuit
McQuaid Jesuit is a Catholic, Jesuit, college-preparatory school dedicated to forming young men who realize their God-given gifts through the pursuit of excellence in all things, service to others, and a lifelong commitment to justice. Rooted in the Gospel and inspired by the life and spirituality of Saint Ignatius Loyola, McQuaid Jesuit calls students to find God in all things and in all people.
A McQuaid Jesuit education is marked by a deep commitment to faith that includes, a life of learning, a spirit of empathy, a call to leadership, and an appreciation of diversity. Students are invited into a living faith that shapes their understanding of themselves and their responsibility to others. Through rigorous academics and the development of critical thinking, they are prepared to engage thoughtfully with the complexities of the modern world. Through service with and for others, they grow in empathy and are formed with a desire for justice. Guided by sound conscience and grounded in humility, students are called to leadership within the school community and beyond. The diversity of the McQuaid Jesuit experience fosters gratitude and prepares graduates to contribute meaningfully in a global society.
Over the course of four, six, or seven years, students grow in a personal relationship with Christ and come to understand their invitation to follow Him in building God's kingdom on earth. Formed by the Jesuit ideal of living for the Greater Glory of God, they learn to make choices that seek the magis in all things.
A graduate of McQuaid Jesuit is intellectually competent, having developed strong habits of reasoning, imagination, expression, and value formation across a broad academic foundation. He is loving, able to move beyond self-interest to form authentic relationships that honor the dignity of others. He is open to growth, recognizing learning as a lifelong pursuit and new experiences as opportunities for deeper understanding of God and creation. He is religious in the fullest sense, motivated by love of God and neighbor, and committed to using his gifts in service to his community and the world.
In all things, McQuaid Jesuit seeks to form men who are thoughtful, compassionate, faith-filled leaders, prepared not only for college, but for lives of purpose, service, and justice.
